Add package {ulem}?

I'd like to be able to strike through text using the Equation Editor. Specifically, I'm typesetting subtraction problems and expressing "borrowing" and I'd like to show the cancelling part. I've determined that the package {ulem} provides strike through and strikeout. It is possible to add the package to the Equation Editor? If you know of an other method to strike through characters, I'm flexible. Thank you!
