Any work that you do should be recognised and you should receive credit for it
At CodeCogs.com we respect all copyright and intellectual property rights. As a result we have 2 basic types of licence that we distribute all work under:

• The GNU General Public Licence - this licence is free.
• A Commercial Licence - this is not free and you decide the price of the licence for any code you have written
These licences protect and recognise your work as the developer. For more details on the licences please visit our licence information page.

The bidding system
If you are doing work for somebody via the biding system we use a secure escrow system to protect your rights. That means that the person you are working for will pay the money up front for the work and CodeCogs will store this money in a dedicated account. Once you have finished the work, you submit the code using the Contribute->Submit Code page, which will display a slightly different initial page in recognition of your submitting code in response to an open bid that you’re working on. Once you submitted all the material, including support documentation, the requester will be asked to check it. If everything is satisfactory we will then transfer the payment to your account. It is possible however that the requester feels that the code does not do what they initially specified. In such instance we have several options. The options are designed to be fair to all parties:

• You are contacted and asked to complete the work as specified.
• You are contacted, and if both sides agree, a partial payment is made (e.g. 85% of original bid).

If there is continued disagreement between the two parties as to whether the work has been completed, then both sides enter into a mediation / arbitration process to resolve the dispute. For details of this process click here.
